Due to changes in retail environment and the shopping patterns of our customers. Black Friday Sale has overtaken the traditional Boxing Day Sale in recent years. The Black Friday Sale is now the peak trading period for our stores. As a result, we have to make the following adjustments to the annual leave/long service leave approval process:
- Black Friday Sale takes place on the last Friday of every November. The week prior to and the week after Black Friday Sale is now our blackout period when annual leave/long service leave cannot be taken by staff members. For example, the Black Friday Sale will be on the 29 November this year. The blackout period for leave will be between 23 November and 6 December 2024
- The current blackout period between Christmas and New Year will no longer be applicable because of the above change.
- We can only approve annual leave/long service leave for one staff member in each store or at head office at a given time due to operational constraints, i.e. two staff members cannot be off on leave at the same time in each store (or at head office).
Please apply as early as possible if you are considering taking leave. Please do Not book flights, paying for trips and accommodation in advance before your leave is approved to avoid disappointment. Your leave application will be processed promptly.
